JLT Ram Air Intake
I have a 2008 Ford F150 4x4 .... I recently had a JLT Ram Air Intake installed on my truck. I also have an Edge Evolution programmer.
Everything seems to be running just fine, but I've been told in another Forum that my engine is running too lean with this intake, and if I don't get a custom tune pretty soon, I'll damage the engine. When I mentioned that I'll probably upgrade my Edge to a Gryphon, I was told that Gryphon can't make a tune for the JLT Ram Air Intake. How true is that? I like the looks of the JLT under the hood. How can the shorter air intake tube damage my engine in ways that a longer tube won't? |

Length can play a role, but tube diameter+ filter surface area and the amount of air passing the MAF is the issue. Bill has a detailed post here somewhere about it, I think in the 04-08 section.

I also wouldn't write off the possibility that Bill can write tunes for you. Wait and see what he says. Nice looking intake though.
