Phoenix Switch-On-The-Fly Chip (DISCOUNTINUED) (Disabled) Power Hungry no longer sells the Phoenix/TS chip, but if you need custom tuning we can recommend a few really good tuners that will be able to still provide tuning and support for your chip. If you have any other questions or comments about the Phoenix/TS chip, please post it here. |

Well, I was getting ready to install my chip and new gauges when I found out my turbo is blowing oil. So I'm thinking about upgrading to a 1.0 housing while I'm at it. Just worried that the EGTs will get too high while I'm towing, and that my tunes might not work with the change in turbo housing. What do you think?

As long as you can sacrifice a touch of high-rpm power, the 1.0 exhaust housing is great! No tuning changes necessary.

Not much more than you do already. Of course you'll have to keep an eye on them. I've done it to two trucks (neither with St. 1 injectors though) and never had anything but good things to say about either. Your compressor might not like you for it since it will be out of it's efficiency range under the higher boost.

OK... too much downtime, but I had a cracked bearing housing on the turbo and it was blowing oil into the intake as well as leaking oil. But thanks to Ron @ Ron's Turbo (awesome guy, superb service, knows what he's doing!!!), I've got it back together and installed my Phoenix. I knew it was going to be awesome, but MAN! 65hp Tow is cool. You can feel the extra torque, but it's mild other than the much delayed shift points. 80hp DD is really fun off the line. It blows out a lot of smoke (more than I really wanted) if you floor it off idle, and then takes off hard!
