Phoenix Switch-On-The-Fly Chip (DISCOUNTINUED) (Disabled) Power Hungry no longer sells the Phoenix/TS chip, but if you need custom tuning we can recommend a few really good tuners that will be able to still provide tuning and support for your chip. If you have any other questions or comments about the Phoenix/TS chip, please post it here. |

I posted a month ago about whether the Phoenix would help solve my problems or not and it seemed like cleatus12r was helping me but I never got a reply after I answered his question.
my pcm is YSL2, and I was wondering if a phoenix chip would allow me to cut my cats off (O2's have been causing me grief for ages) without throwing P01041 and P01042 codes (egr insufficient and excessive). I would be ordering a custom 87 performance tune, mainly to rid myself of that constant CEL |

Go to Autozone, and buy a couple 2 packs of spark plug defouler bungs. Drill 2 of them out so that the O2 sensor can be screwed into one. Then put 2 defoulers together, and insert back into the exhaust pipe. This will remove your O2 sensors from the heat, and trick them into thinking everything is operating properly. You can do this after cutting your cats out too. |

There would be a liability in turning off the post-catalyst monitoring in your truck due to emissions regulations. Your truck would essentially be turned into a off-road use only truck by EPA standards. It's no different than DPF deletes on new diesel vehicles.

i've done the spark plug thing to no avail... nothing is working. I know my egr port should be cleaned and dpfe sensor replaced also but I haven't gotten to it. and I know about the legality of it all. In all reality I would probably leave the front two cats on for convenience.
basically, I just need to know if it can be tuned to make the truck ignore the fact that my emissions system is out of wack. like, send it a false read |

id rather not put $80 into something that may or may not fix my problem when I can just buy a tuner that will also improve my performance.
I don't see why I can't be helped out. I know people get tunes for trucks without cats allll the time. I've heard how helpful PHP is and stuff but idk... I would think a potential customer could get a little information about what he is getting |

First of all, I can't find any reference to these codes you are listing for a 97 F-150 with a 4.6L.

Sounds to me like an EGR flow monitoring issue....not an oxygen sensor issue.
