Default TQ lock-up options in tow tunes

Before I bother Bill and them I'm hoping somebody here can info me first.

This applies to: '02 F350 PSD Crew Cab, SRW, Short Bed, PHP tuner, 4" turboback exhaust, AEM intake, Firestone air bags, Tru Cool 4739, tranny, water and exh temp guages.

I got a new Phoenix tuner from Bill a few months ago. When I talked on the phone with him before I ordered, I thought he said he could program downshifts to keep the TQ locked up as the first step to climbing hills, then unlock if lower gear ratio is still needed. I'm sure you know as it is, it drops out of OD and the TQ unlocks at the same time making for a less than smooth downshift.
Can anybody tell me if I am remembering correctly? Are there any downsides to that downshift sequence that may harm the tranny?

Thanks in advance,
Bunky Jones

Unlocking the converter during a downshift is much healthier for your transmission. There is much less "shock" on your drive-train, and I feel it helps keep the turbo on step.

Just my $.02, the PHP crew will know best.
