Question from a New User
Hi all,
I just received a Gryphon programmer as a birthday gift. I am really excited to use the programmer (I have heard great things over at F150online.com!); however, I am wondering if it would be advisable/safe for me to run one of the canned tunes while I wait for custom tunes. The only modifications I have made to my truck are i) Roush CAI and ii) Magnaflow SI/DO catback system. I have also thrown on some 33" tires (BFG ATs). I believe the adjustments for the larger tire size are already included. I plan to hook up the Gryphon tomorrow and get the HEX code so I can submit an order for a custom 87 Performance tune. Any advice on a canned tune I can run until the custom one arrives? I am really excited to try this bad boy out! Thanks, Garrett |

Since you have the CAI I would stay with the 87 tow. It is designed to run a bit rich and will help offset the slight lean condition the intake causes.

Thank you for the input Longshot. I loaded the 87 tow canned tune and WOW - it makes such a difference. The improved drivability is worth every penny.
I am going to submit a form for a 87 Performance custom tune now that I have my HEX code. So far I am extremely happy with this product! |

Yes the 87 tow is the correct one for the use of a CAI....
