Phoenix Switch-On-The-Fly Chip (DISCOUNTINUED) (Disabled)
Power Hungry no longer sells the Phoenix/TS chip, but if you need custom tuning we can recommend a few really good tuners that will be able to still provide tuning and support for your chip.

If you have any other questions or comments about the Phoenix/TS chip, please post it here.

Default Transmission Shifting Funny

Just for the record, I purchased my Phoenix in October of last year (Invoice #4980). I don't remember my PCM code but I have TNAA4N2 tunes according to my invoice. I have a 2002 CALI 7.3, the cali part seems to be the problem.

Most of my friends have PHP tunes and love their transmission shifting, but I had a friend that also has a '02 cali model, and his trans does the same thing mine does. Driving around town (20-30mph) my trans will constantly shift between 2nd and 3rd gear. Here is a video, it's really hard to tell on the video but you can barely hear it shifting back and forth. I drive in 100 performance most of the time, but it does the same thing in my other tunes. Just wondering if it's my trans problem (it is probably on it's way out, it gets a little warm), or if there is a problem with the tunes.

Yes, usually in town following cars, other wise I would speed up so it stays in 3rd. But it's really annoying.

I also wonder if it could have anything to do with having 35s and my speedometer being off. The chip could think my speed is different than it actually is.

Did you list the 35s on your order form?

I think I did. I can't remember, was too long ago.

Ok, give them a phone call tomorrow morning. You may need adjustments.

I'm going to end up getting a hydra, so when I talk to Corey about that I'll mention it and see what they can do.

The real reason I want to get a hydra. I don't think I can live with stock tunes to send my phoenix back to get re-burned.
